The first ever Fun Day Out event was held in Carberry Tower, near Edinburgh on May 8th 2005. This charity event, was organised by Ferdie Le Fèvre and enabled 70 young cancer and/or leukaemia patients the chance to have their dreams come true and ride as part of a Porsche car parade around the East Lothian area. It also allowed the familes of these children, the chance to enjoy themselves too with live music, playground activities, entertainment and plenty of food and drink for all.
Ferdie chose Porsche as the make of car for his event but not knowing any Porsche drivers personally he embarked on a tireless campaign around Edinburgh, the Lothians and Glasgow, to attract Porsche drivers to his cause. He also recruited entertainers, helpers, musicians and caterers to help provide all that was needed to make the event a sucess.
The feedback from parents, children, drivers and helpers alike regarding the 2005 event was so positive and enthusiastic, that the event will be repeated in 2006.
